CSA Box

Thursday again!

I’ll admit up front that I was supposed to take 8 baskets of strawberries, and I only took two.

Lots of really pretty lettuce this week. The red oak leaf is a very dark purple. I need to eat more salads. I love salads, so you wouldn’t think that would be a problem.

More dandelion greens, and Tuscan kale, which is my second-favorite cooking green (after collard greens.) The filled pasta came out nicely last week, although I should have frozen them before trying to remove them from the parchment paper. But it’s a lot of work. Maybe a lasagne this week. There is enough baby bok choy for its own stir fry.

Another gargantuan fennel bulb, which I may slice very thinly for a salad with some parmesan. Radishes, which I’ll try to bring to Veggielution on Sunday (I brought last week’s radishes, and they sat, forgotten, in the cooler while we ate the wraps made from the leftover pasta filling.) And more green garlic. (Yay!)

And carrots, which go in the carrot bag. The broccoli is very nice looking; I’ll try to use it tomorrow. Pasta, or a crepe filling. Then cilantro, which I already bought at the farmer’s market. So maybe a salsa verde.

But tonight, it’s pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw!
