Happy Mothers Day
I didn’t end up making a pie, because my parents had brought up a birthday cake, and it would have been all too much. But I did manage to make a meal where I had a personal connection to every ingredient except some seasoned bread crumbs and the wine from Trader Joes. Oh yeah, and the salsa verde from Whole Foods.
I made stuffed chard leaves with lamb sausage, a salad with fresh peas, roasted cauliflower and pork cracklings (have I mentioned how very good those pork cracklings are? Crack, indeed) and a fruit salad with peaches, apricots and strawberries.
This is the second Sunday in a row I’ve missed a Veggielution work day. I hope I’ll have my Sunday mornings free for a while.
Happy Mothers Day to you! And we do miss you at the farm. Hope to see you soon!
