This blog is supposed to be more of my own experiences, but twice today, while reading other blogs, I&#8217;ve come across links to my hometown paper, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\"><i>San Jos\u00c3\u00a9 Mercury News<\/i><\/a> which I completely missed in my morning&#8217;s perusal of the paper.<\/p>\n<p>One is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/breakingnews\/ci_12255636\">AP story about gleaning<\/a> which the <i>Merc<\/i> ran with no local tweaking at all, so that it fails even to mention Village Harvest. (Linked from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wastedfood.com\">Wasted Food<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>But then I see a link in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seriouseats.com\/2009\/05\/leftover-links-20090501.html\">Serious Eats<\/a> that says<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Yet Another One:<\/b> Diners report seeing Virgin Mary in California food griddle. It&#8217;s now been removed and placed in a shrine.[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/news\/ci_12264306?nclick_check=1\">Mercury News<\/a>]\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How is it possible that I missed this?<\/p>\n<p>It gets better, of course. The <i>Merc<\/i> link is pretty vestigial. For the real story, you must go to the source, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ivpressonline.com\/articles\/2009\/04\/30\/local_news\/news01.txt\"><i>Imperial Valley Press<\/i><\/a>.
