We talked about what we wanted to plant in the acre after the groundbreaking, and decided to start as many pepper and cucurbit seeds as possible. So I led that task. First we mixed up some potting soil and chicken manure that the nice folks at Summerwinds Nursery in Cupertino donated to us. Thanks!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3361\/3583539863_ee38833eb2_m.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Then we filled up plastic pots with the dirt<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3595\/3583541155_6c594c1821_m.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>and planted the seeds.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3345\/3583540479_b74237b5a0_m.jpg\".\n\nThe funny thing was that I donated a lot of seeds to Mark and Amie last summer, and here they were again. I think the White Wonder cucumber that I got as a bonus from the Tomato Seed Company back in 1994 finally got planted!
