{"id":44,"date":"2008-04-24T06:44:38","date_gmt":"2008-04-24T14:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dianafoss.com\/blog\/2008\/04\/scott-herhold-on-the-district-act\/"},"modified":"2009-05-05T15:24:35","modified_gmt":"2009-05-05T23:24:35","slug":"scott-herhold-on-the-district-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/dianafoss.com\/blog\/2008\/04\/scott-herhold-on-the-district-act\/","title":{"rendered":"Scott Herhold on the District Act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite the fact that the amended District Act was recently passed 7-0 in the Assembly Local Government Committee, Scott Herhold is trying to keep the issue alive in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/scottherhold\/ci_9036911\">today&#8217;s column<\/a> in the <i>Merc<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d much prefer it without all of the &#8220;teenager-kegger&#8221; sniggers. The County oversight of the District was mostly theoretical, anyway; it&#8217;s not as though the SCVWD pulled a fast one in evading County scrutiny. Santa Clara County was just as eager to escape possible liability in lawsuits against the District.<\/p>\n<p>The fact remains, however, that this amended District Act is almost entirely self-serving on the part of the Board.
