All politics is local

Last night’s candidate forum was well-attended, although I would have loved to have gone first, before all of the Shirakawa supporters left. I had good conversations with neighbors, and I’m happy with how I presented myself and my issues with the SCVWD Board.

Scott Herhold has a column in today’s Mercury (unfortunately with HTML formatting errors as of this writing, although it’s still readable) about the boating ban on District reservoirs. He seems a bit grudging about the threat the mussels pose, and doesn’t mention the fact that the ban is only in place until the inspection program starts.

And, while I’m linking, the LA Times reports that the city of Los Angeles is planning a mammoth water conservation program, including water use restrictions, groundwater cleanup and groundwater recharge using recycled water.
