Seeds from the past

This morning I got to Veggielution early enough to participate in the planning for the workday. We talked about what we wanted to plant in the acre after the groundbreaking, and decided to start as many pepper and cucurbit seeds as possible. So I led that task. First we mixed up some potting soil and chicken manure that the nice folks at Summerwinds Nursery in Cupertino donated to us. Thanks!

Then we filled up plastic pots with the dirt

and planted the seeds.

The funny thing was that I donated a lot of seeds to Mark and Amie last summer, and here they were again. I think the White Wonder cucumber that I got as a bonus from the Tomato Seed Company back in 1994 finally got planted! Let's see if they germinate.

I didn’t get a chance to cook or eat with Veggielution today, but I will certainly do so next week.
