Cukes and zukes and tomatoes

And some eggplants and beans and a couple tomatillos. It was a beautiful morning to harvest vegetables at Veggielution. When we first got there, the birds were very noisy. I think they’re not used to having anyone around when they’re trying to eat our plants.

I need to record the geese’s honking. It’s such a funny sound. I don’t know if it’s always the same peacock, but there was one up on the barn roof again, “naaaaaay-oooo”-ing away.

Amie found a cojoined-twin zucchini:

We harvested lots of tomatoes, although not as many as we expected. The tsunami of tomatoes has not yet hit.

and only a few eggplant.

Many curcurbits, and many were too big to use, and had to be composted.

The original plot is looking very lush.

The corn has got much taller than an elephant’s eye:

Sunflowers are blooming.

And I found another plume for my hat.

These veggies all went to Martha’s Kitchen, but Amie and I sat around and talked about the plans for the farmstand. I’m really excited about it.
