I’m off to a WPCP CAG meeting this evening, where I’ll be sure to point out the impossibility of the CAG members’ number one priority for the plant upgrade being “improved architectural features.”

But here are a couple interesting links. Serious Eats has a post on community supported kitchens, kind of like Dream Dinners, but with real food.

Kim Severson reports on the USDA’s Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food campaign. Definitely something to check out for our own foodshed.

I just learned of the existence of Mission San José’s Olive Festival. It’s on 3 October, and I hope to score some oil made by Dominican nuns!

And, more on the water side, an interesting article on tracking trash, using battery-powered cell-phone technology. Will any of it end up in the garbage patch?
